These are members of the Hyacinthaceae family containing a large number of species varying from 50 to 300 depending on the source. They are bulbous plants native to mostly Southern Europe to Southern Africa. Although most are white there are also some very attractive brightly coloured species. A well drained position in full sun ideal for most.
