Dicentra commonly known as Bleeding Heart are a genus of approximately 20 annual and perennial species from Asia and North America that are found in woodland areas. These beautiful plants prefer afternoon shade in a humus-rich soil that prefers to be kept moist during flowering period but good drainage beneficial. The flowers are pendant and heart shaped and all with attractive fern-like foliage. Flowering from mid-spring to late summer. Division of crowns and stolons during the Winter months. Remove old foliage at the end of Winter and top dress with Blood and Bone.
