This Japanese species has large maroon spathes and fleshy spadix on stems 30cm plus. Attractive foliage appearing after flowering. Used medicinally and in cooking in China and Japan. Need morning sun and frost protection, dormant tubers should be kept dry. Because of their “delightful” smell not ideal under the kitchen window!!
