This species is native to Eastern Turkey, Western Iran through to Northwestern Iraq, mostly growing in damp meadows. The Latin name translates to 'Fox-Grape', although we haven't noticed it emitting any unpleasant smell. They produce delightful thimble shaped blooms of burgundy-brown with delicate yellow edging on 30cm stems.
